April 6
Seriously?? Snow?? Augh!!! Excuse me but it is APRIL AND IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE SPRING! Super busy day at work today and I left early to meet Gavin and Sean at the new pediatrician's office for his one year visit. I think we have finally found our pediatrician. Sean and I both liked her and she was good with Gavin. However, she was concerned about his weight. He is quite the heffer weighing in at 17 lbs and 7 oz. He is off his curve and I think the chart for weight but in the 60% for height. (I wanted to say to her...do you see my husband??) Not that this is any big surprise to us. She had a discussion about the kinds of food Gav should be eating which is hilarious because Gavin is already eating the foods she is talking about and then some. She was surprised to hear the grains he eats (millet, quinoa, brown rice etc.) all kinds of legumes and excellent vegetables brussel sprouts, broccoli kale, asparagus, spinach, etc and lots of protein chicken, tofu, ground turkey etc. Plus he is still getting breast milk, formula, cow's milk and goats milk and all of the fruit he eats constantly. The kid can not be eating any better. She finally did say that obviously he is getting what he needs nutritionally as he is way beyond 12 months in motor development and speech. So....she will continue to monitor him and we are making an appointment for an echo with a peds cardiology as it is a possibility that he has a slight murmur which could be effecting his weight gain. Well it is all a process...
